About Nicholas.

My name is Nicholas Lavender, but most people call me Nick. I am 40 years old. I grew up in Southern Ohio and have fond memories of my childhood, growing up close to my cousins. I grew up in the home of a preacher/pastor. I have a brother and a sister. One of my favorite memories is when my family traveled to Italy for a family vacation. So many pictures and fun memories were made on that trip. I was raised to be respectful and to ensure that I was treating everyone with kindness.

I earned a bachelor's degree in cyber security from Marshall University. I am currently employed at a local hospital as the supervisor of the Help Desk. I enjoy history. In another life, I may have pursued teaching history as a career. I come from a very musical family and play the piano, electric guitar and the acoustic guitar.  I enjoy playing gospel music. In my early adulthood, I played with a Christian band. I am a fill in preacher as needed and we currently attend a Nazarene church. I play the bass guitar for Sunday service and in our church band for the youth on Wednesdays.

Though my wife is more of a dog person, I am more of a cat man. We have 2 black cats, Bingley and Kipper.  Kipper was my wife's cat. Bingley was a rescue that we got after we moved Janelle to Ohio. Bingley is small and fluffy and loves to be held.  Kipper is a hunter and loves to be outside, with the occasional trip inside. I have learned to enjoy our German Shepherds and value their added security to our home.

I enjoy lifting weights and have created a small gym in the garage. I am looking forward to sharing the world with children of my own, however they come to me. I can't wait to share the zoo and museums, as well as the Atlanta Aquarium and watch as they take in new things. I have many silly voices that I mimic that makes my wife laugh. I can't wait to hear children laugh at my silly voices too. I want to share a life and create memories with any child that blesses our home.
